From March 29 to September 1, 2019 the Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin will present a comprehensive exhibition of works by the American painter Jack Whitten (1939–2018), the first solo show by the artist in a European museum. Jack’s Jacks shows how Whitten continually extended the boundaries of abstract painting. Curated by Udo Kittelmann and Sven Beckstette, made possible by Verein der Freunde der Nationalgalerie.

Magdeburg 2025 Out of the Void
The city of Magdeburg takes the chance to apply for European Capital of Culture in 2025. Magdeburg sees their greatest potential in a "vacuum“ referring to a certain emptiness and available space within the city. The motto "Out of the Void" is meant to set ideas and projects free and further, to integrate the cultural protagonists and the citizens. The city wants to attract new audiences and establish new creative ways to access culture. In December the jury of the European Capital of Culture-initiative will decide which cities will be shortlisted.
Together with Studio Britta Liermann and Muxmäuschenwild we had the honour to design the Bid Book – Magdeburgs application book – in which the bid team present their concept and ideas to the jury.
The exhibition Hello, Robot. Design between Human and Machine undertakes an interdisciplinary look at robotics which reveals and discusses contradictions inherent to this new technology. We developed a layout algorithm, that placed the entire content, text and images, of the exhibition catalogue in a random layout and order in collaboration with Timo Rychert; resulting in a completely new idea of a book, far away from known conventions.

La Biennale Arte di Venezia All the Worlds Futures
In 2015 Okwui Enwezor, former director of Haus der Kunst Munich, curated the 56th Biennale Arte di Venezia. For All The Worlds Futures we designed the entire corporate design which was featured all over the city of Venice. The 960 pages exhibitions catalogue discusses the state of things as well as the appearance of things in two books on the curator’s intended topic Das Kapital by Karl Marx.

Stefan Lippert / Architekten SL/A Website
In 2020 architect Stefan Lippert and his team will finish their large-scale project UN Campus Bonn in Cologne. Together with Studio Britta Liermann we adjusted his corporate design and realized their new website.
Making Africa – A Continent of Contemporary Design illustrates how design accompanies and fuels economic and political changes on the continent. The 344 pages exhibition catalogue reflects the diversity of an underrated and foresighted potential of African design and art scene. The exhibition tours around the world starting at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (Spain), followed by the CCCB in Barcelona (Spain), the Kunsthal Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and many more.

Jan Scharrelmann Website
Viewing his new website is like standing right in front of his work: Scrolling very closely over materials, experiencing the structures – before stepping back and seeing the whole piece of art: sculptures, wall works or paintings. The play of the inbetween, back and forth, near and far refers to the large-scale sculptures and how the visitor is approaching Jan Scharrelmanns work.
For Global Pop First Wave, a sublabel of Corvo Records, I designed the third and last volume of Saz Beat – Turkish Rock, Funk, and Psychedelic Music of the 1960s and 1970s. The interwoven and psychedelic style of music is reflected by the artwork and gives an insight of this wisely compiled hybrid of local and global sounds.

In 2015 the Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum für Gegenwart Berlin showed roundabout 100 drawings by copy-artist Elaine Sturtevant. For the exhibition opening of Sturtevant. Drawing Double Reversal I designed a hand-drawn invite.

When Muenster based artist Susanne Hegmann asked me to redesign her website, she didn’t expect to renew up her entire visual identity. As member of the Board of Directors of Deutscher Künstlerbund there was a need for an outstanding and remarkable corporate design. Based on her favorite typeface Futura, I developed a visual identity which connects her digital as well as her printed presence.
A former mentor from the University of Applied Arts Duesseldorf, Birgit Jensen, asked me to do an invite for her exhibition Andy Warhol und Ich at Lehr Zeitgenössische Kunst Berlin. Birgit Jensen combines diverse printing techniques with digital image manipulation. The key visual for the exhibition refers to her piece KAGAMI V from 2017.
Michael Beutler Moby Dick
The solo exhibition Moby Dick in 2015 at Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum für Gegenwart Berlin showed the transformation of material into alternative spatial perceptions as architectonical structures. To underline the changing process of the exhibition we developed a poster campaign using information and typography as modules. Additionally, the invite plays with the process of development and the unfolding of the work itself.
